What donations do:
In 2019, Jesse and Aawaz set aside $1500 as a scholarship fund for the partner schools, Bhabishay Nirmard Mabi and Khurdi Aadarbut Vidhyalaya as part of their fund from Kathryn Davis Projects for Peace. Rural poverty is commonplace in Nepal and often prevents students from attending school. The scholarship covers the cost of supplies like course books, uniforms, and tuition for needy students in the area. The allotted $1500 was estimated to last 4 years.
Where do donations go:
Donations precede to an account managed by three parties: Mr. Mitralal Pokhrel, Ms. Budi Maya Gurung, and Mr. Bheshraj Pokhrel. According to the rules of this joint account, funds cannot be withdrawn without the consent of each party. These individuals have been involved in the project since December of 2018. Mr. Mitralal Pokhrel and Ms. Budi Maya Gurung are the principals of Bhabishay Nirmard Mabi and Khurdi Aadarbut Vidhyalaya respectively, and Mr. Bheshraj Pokhrel is a former resident of Oraste-Syangja and a former teacher from Bhabishay Nirmard Mabi.
